Forum Member Christer Berg Wins Third Place!

Once again Forum artist Christer Berg places in an exhibit! This time the Fresh exhibit now up at Artspace in Raleigh. Christer placed third for his image "Oasis". For those who attend meetings regularly, you've seen the image up close and it's terrific! If you haven't seen it up close, don't wait much longer. Hurry over to Artspace before the exhibit closes. It will be up until June 26th. Artspace is located at the City Market, 201 E. Davie Street in downtown Raleigh. Artspace is open Tuesdays 10am - 7pm; Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 6pm.

"Oasis" was one of only 27 images selected for the final exhibit from 150 that were submitted, and one of only three photographs juried in. Quite an accomplishment! But one that we've come to expect from Christer.

If you don't want to miss any exceptional images from some of the best photographers working in the Triangle, (and see them before anyone else!) don't miss a meeting!

Carolina's Got Art, and Eric Saunders & Christer Berg too!

Once again the Photo Forum has artists on display, and this time together. Both Eric Saunders and Christer Berg have been juried into the Carolina's Got Art 2015 exhibit at the Elder Gallery in Charlotte, NC. This is the fourth year of the competition which is designed to help promote artists in the Carolinas.

This years selections came from over 3,000 entries. It's no surprise to those of us who attend meetings regularly that both Eric and Christer should have been chosen. Every month we get to see some of the best photography work being done in the Triangle. If you're not attending regularly, you're really missing out!

The Elder Gallery is located at 1520 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC. The exhibit opens Friday May 1st and runs through the end of the month. Stop out and help support a Forum artist if you can!

Third Friday Opening for Stephen Fletcher

This past Friday was Third Friday in Durham, and with that the opening of Stephen Fletcher's exhibit: "Some Semblance" at Through This Lens. The event was well attended, with several of our Forum members among the visitors.

As many of us who attend regularly can attest, the images are outstanding and a great representation of Stephen's body of work. The presentation was also fantastic with the perfect matting and framing. All-in-all, an exhibit well worth seeing. If you didn't make it to the opening on Third Friday, stop in soon. Stephen's work is on display until April 11th. Don't miss it!

To everyone from the Forum who was able to attend, thanks! It's great to see all the support from your peers. That's one of the great things about the group. If you're not attending regularly, you're missing out!

Stay tuned. More to come...

Out and About

Just a reminder that this Friday March 20th will be the opening of Forum Artist Stephen Fletcher's exhibit: "Some Semblance" at Through This Lens Gallery (303 E. Chapel Hill Street, Durham) from 6-9pm.

We've been fortunate to see several of the prints Stephen has been working on as he has assembled the exhibition, so I know we're all looking forward to seeing the work on display! So let's get out for Third Friday in Durham and support a Forum Artist.

Stephen will be sharing the gallery this month with photographer Michael Rosenberg who's exhibit American Tobacco Factory: A Reformation of a Factory and a City will also be on display. Due to the snow events of last month it was decided to carry the exhibit over for this month as well. This will be a unique opportunity to view the work of two outstanding artists. Don't miss it!

As always, watch this space for more to come...
